Mount Pleasant is governed by a village board elected to their positions on an at-large, part-time basis and who serve a two-year term. The Mount Pleasant Board is responsible for formulating and acting on the general policies that guide its operations. In addition, the Administrator serves as chief operating officer, managing day-to-day activities and administering the policies set forth by the Board.

The VILLAGE HALL is located at 6126 Durand Avenue (northwest corner of STH 11 and STH 31). The general number for all departments is (262) 554-8750. The Village Hall is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Numerous boards and commissions, composed of civic-minded residents and business leaders who volunteer their time and expertise, study issues of interest and make recommendations to the Board. The average age of residents is 42.7. Approximately 140 new homes are constructed annually at an average price of $192,500. Mount Pleasant has a total of over 9,500 residential living units with 12,320 tax parcels. The mix of residential, commercial and farmland makes Mount Pleasant diverse and economically stable.

The Village maintains a preferable Aa3 bond rating based upon demonstrated prudent and sustainable management strategies. The Moody’s bond rating reflects the Village of Mount Pleasant’s strong financial position which would not be possible without the cooperation of the elected officials’ fiscal responsibility.
