Fire Consolidation Study for the Villages of Mount Pleasant and Sturtevant

For the last several years there has been a great deal of talk regarding joint services between the Villages of Mount Pleasant and Sturtevant. Given the geographical relationship of the communities consolidation of services will happen the only question is when. In 2006 the first step was taken with the successful consolidation of public safety dispatch operations between the two communities. The dispatch center is now up and running successfully.

The two Villages held a joint meeting on May 8th 2007 as a forum to discuss the Villages intent to proceed with the feasibility study towards consolidation of fire and rescue. Part of this process was to contract Dr. Timothy McGrath of the McGrath Consulting Group, Inc. to provide the communities with an outside objective look at the feasibility of consolidation. Dr. McGrath has worked on similar projects across the Midwest.

Please See General Links and Documents below to view Dr McGrath’s findings presented to both Village Boards.
