Health Department environmental health (EH) staff provide education, regulation
and licensing, and enforcement activities aimed at reducing or eliminating
environmental health hazards.
Inspections/Licensing
EH staff inspect and license restaurants, taverns,
hotels/motels, public pools, campgrounds, and tattoo parlors.
Temporary events
Temporary events held within the Villages of Caledonia, Mt.
Pleasant, Sturtevant and North Bay which serve food and/or provide campsites
may require a temporary event license and food safety training.
Environmental Complaints
EH staff respond to complaints of potential human health
hazards, including garbage. If you wish to file a complaint please
call the health department at 262-835-6429. The complainant MUST leave a name
and number in the event we would need to contact you. If there is not a phone
number, staff cannot complete the investigation.
Radon and Well Water Testing
Radon and water test kits are available at the Health
Department. Radon test kits cost $5. Well test kits are free but there is a lab
fee for water testing.

Household Hazardous Waste
Household Hazardous Waste disposal site gives the residents a way to safely dispose of hazardous household materials like cleaning products and oil-based paint. Please check the upcoming events for the current schedule.
Medication Collection
The Health Department participates in a county-wide program to safely dispose of unwanted medications. We aim to reduce the amount of medications flushed into the water system. Please check the upcoming events for the current schedule.
