Welcome to the Village of Mount Pleasant’s Planning and Zoning Department where we will actively promote a diverse, safe, and dynamic community and enhance the living, working, and recreational choices for all Mount Pleasant citizens and visitors. The Village Planning and Zoning Department oversees orderly development and growth of residential, commercial, and industrial areas. The Village Zoning Cone regulates uses, lot coverage, population, density distribution, parking, loading and access.
The Village of Mount Pleasant Planning and Zoning Department is comprised of two full-time staff members. The Planning Department provides technical support to the Village Plan Commission and Village Zoning Board of Appeals. The Planning Department daily assists homeowners, builders, developers, real estate agents, profit and not-profit organizations to prepare discretionary land use applications.
The Planning and Zoning Department reviews site plan applications, sign permits, rezoning and conditional use permits, variances, certified survey maps (minor land divisions), and subdivision plats.
