The Plan Commission is composed of five (5) citizen members appointed by the Village President and two (2) Village Board Trustees. The Plan Commission is advised by the Director of Planning and Development or a designee assigned by the Director. The Plan Commission reviews development proposals and makes recommendations to the Village Board on such items as; conditional use and rezoning requests, minor land divisions (certified survey map), subdivision plats, ordinance text amendments, and amendments to the Village’s Official Maps (e.g masterplan). The Plan Commission is also charged with the responsibility for reviewing site and architectural plans for proposed commercial, industrial, and manufacturing developments.
The Plan Commission meets on the 3rd Wednesday of every month at 1:00 PM in the Council Chambers (Ebe Auditorium) at Village Hall, 8811 Campus Drive. Applications for Plan Commission items are due on the last Tuesday of the previous month prior to the next meeting date. However, applications will not be placed on the agenda until all items are submitted and all staff concerns are addressed. At the meeting staff will make a brief presentation on your proposal after which you will have an opportunity to address the commission to provide additional information or answer any questions.
