Things to Do

parks and trails

The Village of Mount Pleasant operates an extensive park system. Fourteen parks with over 300 acres of green space, including playgrounds, trails, fishing, and baseball diamonds, are yours to explore. The Village has officially adopted a Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan to promote outdoor activities and appreciation for our Village's natural beauty.

Our parks are home to exciting events like Movies Under the Stars, biergartens, food truck events, the annual Kraut Fest music festival, and more!

Bike trails connect the Village with close neighbors like Racine, and eventually will extend to Kenosha and all the way to the shores of Lake Michigan. The Pike River Pathway, which began construction in 2015 and is now entering Phase 9 of its planned development, is a paved, 4.7 mile path with several scenic loops for walking and cycling.

Following the Path

Access the pathway and Pike River corridor from any of these locations:

  • Durand Avenue (east of Cottage Drive)

All have convenient, free parking.

CAMPUS PARK

The Campus Park is over 20 acres of green space adjacent to the new Village Hall.

The first milestone completed for the park is the Greenwood Family Playground, completed in autumn 2017 through the generous donations of the Greenwood Family. This playground was built alongside the construction and paving of an entry drive and parking lot, for easy access to the first of the park's many amenities.

When completed, the Campus Park will have a playground, band shell, a large pavilion with concessions area and public restrooms, tennis and pickleball courts, a sand volleyball court, and two softball diamonds, along with a large open green space for future possibilities. We hope you'll return soon to see what the Campus Park has in store.

CALEDONIA-MOUNT PLEASANT MEMORIAL PARK

The Caledonia-Mt. Pleasant Memorial Park is a 52-acre community park located in southern Caledonia. Jointly owned and managed by the Villages of Caledonia and Mount Pleasant, this park showcases a league softball diamond, two basketball goals, four soccer fields, a playfield, a playground, two sandlot softball diamonds, two tennis courts, sand volleyball courts, a Kids Connection Playground, horseshoe pits, informal and group picnic areas and shelters, and restrooms.

Lots of events take place in the Caledonia-Mount Pleasant Memorial Park - check out the calendar to see what's coming up!

SMOLENSKI PARK

Smolenski Park is a 72-acre community park located in the north-central portion of the Village. Amenities include a sandlot softball diamond, playfield, a playground, basketball hoops, a sand volleyball court, horseshoe pits, picnic areas, open-air shelters (which can be reserved), parking, and restrooms.  Hiking trails, woodlands, wetlands, and a pond within a 39-acre isolated natural resource area fill out the rest of the park, for those who want to relax off the beaten path.

COZY ACRES PARK

Cozy Acres Park is a 27-acre conservancy area centrally located within the Village adjacent to the City of Racine. A portion of the County’s Racine-Kansasville Trail (formerly the Racine-Burlington Trail) runs through the site. The site also includes woodlands and wetlands within 17 acres of isolated natural resource area.
