Compost Site

The Compost Site is located north of HWY 20 (Washington Avenue) at West Road, and accepts yard waste, garden waste, leaves and brush. Mount Pleasant proof of residency is required.

Temporary Closure and Alternate Drop-Off Site

The Compost Site is undergoing construction and reconfiguration. 

During the scheduled closure of the compost site, a temporary drop-off site will be available to Village residents at the Mount Pleasant DPW site, 8700 Campus Drive, Mount Pleasant, WI 53406. The temporary site will be open on the following days and times:

• Mondays from 8am to 3pm, starting September 16, 2019

• Wednesdays from 8am to 3pm, starting September 18, 2019

• Saturdays from 8am to 3pm, starting September 21, 2019

ONLY the following materials will be accepted on-site:

  • grass clippings
  • leaves - separated from branches
  • brush and branches (maximum 7' long and 4" diameter)

NO

  • milled lumber or fencing
  • sod - soil - rocks - concrete
  • garlic mustard
  • garbage or recyclables

Oil & Anti-Freeze Drop-off

The Village Department of Public Works (DPW) Facility at 8700 Campus Drive offers a public waste oil and antifreeze collection site. Reservoirs for drop-off are located at the south end of the Public Works facility with access via the south driveway. Residents may drop off waste oil and antifreeze 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
